pineapple salsa chicken for crockpot

Mix the following:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3 T garlic
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 1 can pineapple chunks in juice
  • 1/2 cup salsa

Put that into a crockpot and set in your chicken pieces. Cook on medium until cooked thoroughly.

We made this and froze it for a quick meal.

How much chicken do you need for this recipe? And also how many servings does this make? Also do you serve it over rice?

    1. we put in for this recipe about 4 chicken breasts. To do more, just add some more salsa..it will stretch the rest of the flavors:)

    1. I am sure you can. I have just always added can. Make sure that it is sweet. You want that spicy /sweet taste. You could always add a sweetener if you wanted it to be more sweet.

What sides do you serve with the pineapple salsa chicken and can you bake it instead of the crockpot.

Approximately how long would you say it takes in the crockpot? I’m new to cooking but I’d guess maybe 3-4 hours? And do you just reheat over the stove?

At the end, you wrote that you made it & froze it for a quick meal. I’m confused on that part. Did you throw everything in a bag (uncooked chicken & ingredients), then dump it all in the crockpot when ready? Or, did you cook everything, then put it in the zip lock bags? I’m confused, because the chicken looks uncooked in the bags.
