Hey everyone hope your Friday is going well. I have another video available in my How I manage our large family series…this one deals with Friday and how we do errand day and deep cleaning day. I share what we did when we had little ones as well as what we do now with older ones. Watch and enjoy!

You are just SUCH an inspiration! I am loving these videos, I can’t get enough :). Homeschooling, cooking/food, and the home making. It’s wonderful! A few things, one I just had to say that I totally second the potty seat in the van! Our youngest 2 are 5 and 7 now and we STILL find that we use it occasionally. I mean sometimes at 5 you just can’t wait! :). Gallon baggies for car sickness too. Seal it up & throw it out! Second, I also wholeheartedly agree with taking food to eat on errand day and also having food ready either in the crock pot or a quick casserole prepared on errand days. It is ROUGH to walk in the door after all that shopping and still have to put everything away after. Phew it exhausts me thinking about it 😄! I even use tv on errand day now, after we walk in the door & put stuff away I send them off to watch a movie so I can have peace for about an hour :). So, I have a question. I rarely left the house until this year, for some reason we have found so many interesting things to do I suppose & get out “too often” a few times a week now. Mostly our Middle Ages (around age 13) starts to want out I think. Anyway, how often would you say you get out besides errand day? I’m aiming for only once or twice besides errands, but it’s getting hard for me to narrow down I think :). I love the parks, playgrounds, library & stuff too I guess :). But I’m totally falling behind doing this now after all these years of being home. Can’t win yet :). Thanks as always!!
Also, yes to cleaning out the van immediately after! (I even have them do that for small trips). For errand day I have 2 separate bags (just small grocery store/Walmart bags). One for trash that goes straight into the trash can outside & one for “stuff” that goes in the house. Gloves they get too hot wearing, a random toy or stuffed animal, the mail, a library book they looked at on the way home, etc. Makes life much easier!
Thank you for all the information, lots of good things. Baggies….good idea. :)I rarely left the house because I had so many little ones too:) Our life is a lot different now than before. For now, we go out Sundays…we do sunday school and church….so my middle schooler can have “fun with friends” and we do wednesday night classes. We also run almost everyday to our park…but it is 5 minutes away from our home and we do not have a yard to play or exercise in…so the park is wonderful. If I had little ones, I would NOT be doing that everyday….Probably not at all:) I do understand about them wanting to get out and if you can, then do so. I found that when I kept my middle age child home they were resentful. if you have a church or some activity to socialize in then great but if not, I would find something. We did library groups for mine that I just dropped mine off to it was local…and they would visit friends their age. It is hard when you have a mix of ages especially when you are home:) Invite a friend over once a week is another option. If your life is crazy and you are stressed…then you are doing too much:)
