Hello everyone, Okay, I am official organized and together for the school year! In this video I will explain what we are doing to homeschool all of our children, there are 6 this year for free. I hope you enjoy, how we put it together.
Be blessed always! Amy

Love the video Amy!
Thank you so much for sharing.
I am hoping and praying you will have an 8th grade book on amazon this year.
Will you be selling one?
I have 3 children all going into 8th. This is our 7th year of homeschooling and I only found you last year. I am so grateful for the free resources you have put together. Thank you again!
Your so welcome Marie. I really was hoping to have an 8th grade finished before the school year but I don’t think it is going to happen. I am actually going to have my 7th grader try and do two grades this year, so he will start the year off and then as he finishes, I hope to start him on 8th before the school year ends. That means I am going to being working on it but it won’t be finished for months. If you are really stuck and don’t have any other options, I would look at http://www.allinonehomeschool.com They have lots of free online courses that you may be able to do. Have you downloaded and looked at the 7th grade course and what it covers? Under homeschooling resources section, scroll down to the answer key PDF’s and get the 7th grade. You may find that it will work for your children. I know the standardized test is the same for grades 7-8. So I would agree that grades 7 and 8 are pretty similar. Just my two cents;) You have to do what is good for your family and yours alone. I apologize as I had originally wanted to have that grade level together, but it just didn’t happen. Thanks again for being here. Have a great day!
Question! You have links to reading comprehension questions on your blog…but you say in the video you don’t share it. Do you do more than. What is posted for the different reading comprehension programs for the grades? First time homeschooling and trying to make sure I’m doing enough while not overkill! Thank you so much!
Your so great for asking! I do the reading comprehension that I post on my blog with the questions for each of the books. In two grades….grade 4 and grade 7 I have a separate reading comprehension course that I printed off the internet. It just gives more reading and questions. Having a lot of children, I don’t want some to come under the radar in their reading and knowledge of what they had read. If you are able to make sure that they understand and can answer the questions on the print offs that I offer, I wouldn’t worry about it. If they miss a question…..the reading passages are shorter and I am able to go back quickly and scan to find the answer. I also show them how I scan to find the answer. This I hope will go into their more in depth reading. I just don’t have time to search out the answers in a chapter book if they don’t know how the answer key got that. Does that make sense? It is out of time wise not having a lot of time to devote to answering questions. So as they begin to get reading done well, I start in 4th and then before they enter high school just to make sure they are understanding the passages. You are going to do great! Don’t do overkill. My advice start little and add more as you can. Trust me it was the greatest advice I had ever gotten. You can always catch up in the following years. You can! Good luck!
Hi Amy! I’m curious… You mention in the video that you’re doing science with your children this year, but you did not go into any detail about how you’re covering science. Can you do a blog post soon about how you’re covering science with your children this school year? I always enjoy hearing and reading about your homeschool. If that’s not possible, perhaps you can just tell me a little about what you’re doing this year. Thanks and blessings to you and yours!
Yes, I will do that this week….we had a busy week last week and our power was out towards the end of the week. I will do something to show what we do.Thanks for the idea!!!
Great! Looking forward to it! : )
Hi Amy, do you have book lists for 8th and 9th grade? I’m loving all of your homeschool resources! Thank you, Elisa
Thank you. No I do not unfortunately:( It varies as all my kids have enjoyed different types of books.
Hello Amy, I was wondering if you have answer keys available.
I do not at this time.
Hi Amy!!! Single mom Megan here. I have 3 children . 2 who will be going in the fourth grade this year ( I am hold it back my son this year because we have had nothing but horrible experiences with teachers)and one who is going into 8th. But I’m so very confused. I will be purchasing your school curriculum books from Amazon but my question is, do I need to tell the state or city that I will be homeschooling? How does this work? Also when do the children test to test out of the grade? All the information you can give me is gratefully appreciated!!! I’m a Christian so I would love to incorporate as you do , this into the curriculum for my children. I don’t feel they teach this is school. I am really looking for a good mentor and help with this, and may if you can give me some tips on how to make money from home. as I am a single momma with no family or help. I hope to hear back from you. God bless.
Nice to meet you…First I would start to see what your state requires…www.hslda.org and click on your state and then we go from there:) A great way to make money at home is by learning to be as frugal as you can with what you have:) That is what I did for many many years and it has helped better than any income I could have had when I was with my kids.
Hi I am so happy I found you, We share the same homeschooling
me method, my daughter is dyslexic simple works best for her. What software do you use to create your worksheets?
just wordpad:)
Amy, so glad I landed on your page. We live in Japan as full-time missionaries and our two children are attending Japanese school until completion of 6th grade (elementary school) and then we are transitioning them to homeschool. We have been considering so many options and it is easy to get lost in all that is available. So far I am liking what I see that you have shared and we hope to solidify what we are doing soon as our daughter is wrapping up 5th grade and will start 6th grade in April. (School year in Japan is April – March). Again, we are grateful for your willingness to share!
I am very excited for you and your family. What a beautiful testament to the Lord. I am happy to share and provide. Thank you for taking the time to share this with me. Have a wonderful day!
