french toast

DSCN5265In our large family we like to have a breakfast meal for dinner at least once per week.  With 25 hens and ducks, we get many eggs.  This is a great way to use up those eggs.

You can typically use any type of bread for french toast, but I have found that by using the Texas toast, it is a much fluffier, heartier sandwich.

For our large family, we use 2 bags of Texas toast, 15 eggs, and 2 cups of milk.

We whip the eggs and milk together.   Heat up the griddle and add some coconut oil to coat it.  Then dip the bread into the egg mixture and let it fry on the griddle.

Serve with syrup or strawberry sauce.

I made a huge batch of french toast for our family yesterday because your blog and videos inspired me too! I only did 2 bags worth for my family of 7 (only 6 are eating though) and I had enough left for another meal in the freezer! I am so excited and inspired by your freezer meal ideas and your videos. I need to get a freezer so I can make some meals ahead or at least double some meals so I can store one for later!

    1. YAY! Isn’t it nice to have something on hand in your freezer??? just for those busy mornings:)I am happy you have tried it and enjoy it. Hmmmm now….what else can you do double of and set aside???? Have a wonderful day!

      1. How do you reheat these? And what are they served with? Also how do you reheat the breakfast burritos please? Love your videos they are amazing 😍💜

  3. Do you thaw the French toast overnight in the fridge or leave it outside before you microwave them?
Thanks for the amazing meal plans!

    1. If you remember you can if you don’t you can do frozen. Once thawed we can leave in refrigerator for a week and just keep eating off it.

    1. You can do either…I prefer cooking before and then just toasting or microwaving them. but I have done french toast sticks and froze them with raw egg and then baked them. Frozen for few months as long as they are in freezer bags
