- 3 c oatmeal
- 1 1/4 c flour
- 1 1/2 c brown sugar
- 2 t cinnamon
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1 1/4 cup butter melted
- 4 cups chopped apples sprinkled with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 T cinnamon
Mix dry ingredients until combined and then pour on melted butter and mix well.
Take out 2 cups of the mixture to use as topping for the bars. Then put the rest into a 9 x13 baking pan and push down to create a crust. Top with chopped apples. Add remainder topping and push down gently. Bake 350 for 30 minutes. When cooled, cut into bars.

Have you ever tried this recipe with less butter? That seems like a lot.
thank you Raylin, yes too much butter, I fixed it:) I was thinking 2 sticks. Be blessed
Hey Amy. Just wondering if the 1 1/4 cups of melted better is the right amount.
It is, that makes it crunchy:)
