Hello Amy… I love your YouTube channel… I am here because I am starting to homeschool my 14 and 15 year old 8th graders… I am starting mid year because we have been doing remote learning due to the virus but the kids really hate the program the school is using and spend 8-10 hours a day on the PC schooling… more navigating the program than actually learning… this is why they hate is so bad… ANY way… I am so worried about this my 14 year old is in the gifted program in school and is an A+ student he is literally smarted than I am… so I am so worried I am going to hurt him rather than help him… I really hope that they can return to school next year and I don’t want them to be behind… any advice you can give? I am looking into your 8th grade book as well as atime4learning… how do I know what to assign them??? I am a nervous wreck.
    thanks in advance

    1. First…just breathe…relax….don’t invest in expensive .curriculum….go on amazon and start a search for the studies you want to explore…algebra ….english literature…etc…then read the reviews on it…see what they say..what will happen as you are searching they will give you other recommends so start reading the reviews about them.. Then goto your local library and check out the books. Most yearly programs in school can be learned within a 1-2 month time frame with much simpler work. They have so many books written by experts to help super speed up the learning for adults that have to learn that course in a short period of time..not years. Think about adults that work in a certain skill or trade..if they have to learn Trigonometry for work in a few weeks..there are books that teach them that in a short time. Trust me..much better than 8-10 hours staring at a computer and losing your kids zeal for learning…you will get this…relax and do different than what the world is showing us is the only way…there are other ways and shown to be very successful.
