homemade salsa from canned tomatoes

  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes with green chili’s
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 T garlic minced
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 2 T dried green bell pepper or 1 whole fresh chopped

Place all in food processor and pulse until combined.  Serve with chips

  3. Do we have to add the jalapenos and the 2 cans of diced tomotoes with green chili’s ?

    • Hello Angelea, no you do not. It depends upon how spicy you want it. When I had little ones, I didn’t add any spice, but now they like it just a tad spicy. I cut up fresh jalapenos when I get them on sale and then freeze them in chunks. When I make some sort of dish that I want to add spice to, I just add it whole, let it sit in the juices for a few hours, and then remove it. All the while, testing to see how spicy it has gotten.
