God has directed…….we are moving!!!

Crazy how life can be all comfy and set one day and then completely turned upside down in a matter of weeks!!  Well as you know, we have been praying for direction concerning this move out of state…well God has opened doors and answered prayers so we are doing it.

We got the okay concerning a home and we are set to move down in less than 2 weeks. As of right now, my life is consisting of doubling up on school so that we can finish out October this week and have next week to visit and socialize before we go.  I have doctor appointments this entire week to get in all of our appointments before we go.  Plus I need to do some shopping before we go and get some last minute things.

I have been actively cleaning out, selling, and giving away items that we are not taking.  I THINK in my head that all of our stuff will fit but in reality, I measured it out and I KNOW it won’t all fit.  So I am reducing even more.  This will be good for me, helps me realize that I don’t actually need all of the stuff I think I need.

We are excited, it is getting awful chilly here in Michigan and I look forward to some warmer weather in North Carolina.  I know it will still be cool but warmer than our polar vortex winter we had last year.  YIKES!!!  I am happily giving away my shovels, snow pants, skates, sleds, and winter boots.  I think I will keep the gloves and coats.  It will still be cold just not freezing.

I say this to let you know if I don’t get on here, you know what I am doing….packing….cleaning…..running last minute errands and doctors…visiting with friends to make good memories and probably having a few meltdowns.

I will keep you posted as to how it is going.  Maybe do some large family moving on a cross country scale….blog post topic….hmmmm  we will see.

Have a blessed day.

  1. Congratulations!!! I’m so excited for you! Text me, when your free, & give me the details! We lived there for nearly 10 years. We made some great memories, & I know you will too! 🙂

  2. Hi Amy,
I would keep at least 1 shovel.. When I moved down to NC I thought ahhhh…No snow.. Wrong?? The year I was down there we got a hefty snowstorm and I was glad I kept some of my winter gear from the north. Now I’m in an area that I pray every year that we get snow just so my kiddos can see a a couple of times in there lifetime:-(
Enjoy NC you will enjoy it like we did!! The hiking trails are gorgeous!

    • Thanks for the advice. We are keeping a few items for winter. Yes we are excited to go see some hiking trails and enjoying all the things to go look at and see. Just Gods creation. It will be good. Snow….we can always goto the mountains:) Thanks again

  3. I’ll be praying that your move goes smoothly; how exciting!

How exciting and stressful! Moving is so filled with bitter sweet emotions. We moved from Georgia to Texas a little over 6 months ago. My husband had to be in training elsewhere, so our 5 children and I sold our house, coordinated the movers, drove across country found us a rental, moved in, unpacked and set up house all before my husband made it here. A move is such a good opportunity for children (and us moms) to learn new things and a good character builder, as everyone’s character will be tested lol. You will do great! I hope that you have a stress free as possible blessed move!

    • I smiled at the “character builder” yes it really does. We have definitely been tested lol. It has been good, not too crazy. When God is making and directing things it runs pretty smoothly. Thank you for the encouragement.
