These cookies taste like they belong in your grammas kitchen all baked up fresh and yummy. These are not cut out kind cookies, just nice fluffy cookies. We sprinkle with decorating sugar for a little added flavor to the cookie.
You will need the following to make these:
This makes about 40 cookies, we double this recipe to fit our large family.
- 1 c butter
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 t vanilla
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 t nutmeg
- 3/4 c sour cream
- 1/2 t salt
- 4 c flour
Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream. Chill about an hour. I like to mix these up and chill overnight.
Roll them into individual balls and press down lightly onto the cookies. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Sprinkle with colored sugar sprinkles.
These cookies freeze well in the freezer too.
