This candy is so quick and easy to make and tastes so wonderful. It has that salty, sweet flavor that we crave in treats.
You will need the following:
- 1.5 sleeves of saltine crackers
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts
In a large jelly roll style cookie sheet, cover it in parchment paper or waxed paper.
Lay the saltine crackers next to each other in the pan. Reserve the remaining crackers for a crumb topping.
In a small saucepan, bring the butter and the brown sugar to a rolling boil. Boil for 3 minutes.Pour the sugar mixture over top of the crackers, try to coat the crackers evenly. When you place it in the oven it will bubble and spread more of the sauce out. Bake at 350 for 5 minutes.
After you take it out of the oven, immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. If you are impatient and do not want to wait for them to melt, place it back in the oven for a few minutes.
Spread the chips onto the sugar and crackers.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts and reserved cracker crumbs.
Let cool in the refrigerator and break into squares. Store in a covered container.
