This is probably one of my favorite dishes to make right now. I am not a big fan of chicken, but the combination of flavors, is divine. This is a big winner in our monthly rotation.
sesame Honey chicken
- 3 whole chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3 T sesame seed oil
- 1/2 cup honey or 2 T brown sugar
- 1 T minced onion
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp salt and pepper
- quinoa, prepared as a side
- cornstarch to coat the chicken pieces in
Prepare your chicken. When we do our once a month shopping, I separate our chicken into bags for each meal. —what I do is coat the chicken in cornstarch before I place the sauce on to it. I like to cut the chicken then as to what style I need it for. This was already all cut up into chunks, I just thawed directly into the pan. Cook over medium heat, until almost cooked. In a mixing bowl, mix your marinade up. Which is all your ingredients. Pour that over top of your chicken. Let them simmer and cook for an hour or so. Do a taste test. If you want more garlic, add it. If you want it sweeter, add some honey, if it needs more soy sauce, then add that. I like to serve it with a side of quinoa as it has a plainer taste to offset the sweet tang of the chicken.
