grape nuts

This is a delicious tasty topping for yogurt or just to have plain.

Mix the following in a bowl:

  • 2 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup butter melted or coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp maple flavoring
  • 2 1/2 cup buttermilk –I do regular milk with 2 T vinegar mixed in
  • 4 cups whole wheat flour

 

Mix all and bake in 9×13 pan 350 for 40 minutes or until done.  Then let cool and crumble onto a cookie sheet.  Bake 300 or until crunchy.  Crumble into smaller pieces again.  Store in closed container.
