This is exactly as the name states—chicken on rice made simple
You will need the following:
- 2 c rice
- 1 chopped onion
- 1-2 stalks celery chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 poultry seasoning
- 2 T soy sauce
- 3 C water
- 1 whole chicken cut into serving pieces–or whatever your family prefers
Ok I made this both ways, in my crockpot and in my roaster pan for the oven and both ways turned out beautifully. In this photo I put the rice in my crockpot.
Placed my chicken pieces on top—they were frozen
Mixed up my liquid ingredients
Poured over top of the chicken
Sprinked with some Lawrys seasoning.
Let bake on high for 4-6 hours.
Another time I put it into my roaster pan and set the chicken on top with the liquid poured over. Covered it with tin foil and baked at 350 for 2 hours. You can bake it as 300 for about 3 1/2-4 hours. A good Sunday meal for this reason.
