Clutter

Some of us have a little form of clutter in our homes, but MOST of us have too much clutter in our homes.  So what’s wrong with clutter?

Our homes are to be a haven of peace in our lives.  We as wives should be creating an area that is enjoyable for all.  We should ENJOY being home and we should WANT to spend time there.  Most people try and go away as much as they can to get away from the clutter.  Some people will prolong going home because of the overwhelming amount of work that needs to be done.  Just trying to think about where to begin completely overwhelms them and they try and shut it out.

Having a messy or cluttered home affects us in 3 ways:

  • Time
  • Money
  • Stress

Time.  When you think of clutter usually it is an energy drain, but it is mostly a time drain.  How many minutes or hours are spent looking for keys, missing shoes, an article of clothing, or that one important paper that you were sure you set right here??? Most of the time the item you are looking for is right where you are looking, but it is often difficult to see among all the clutter.

Money.  Having a cluttered home will cost you money.  Items can easily get broken, lost, or misplaced.  When you need that certain item it usually is not where you thought you put it and you revert to buying more.  We are in a habit of buying more food, toiletries, and clothing without taking inventory of the items that we have on hand at home.  It is hard to do that when you don’t have them all in a designated spot.  Mail can get misplaced which results in unpaid bills, which in turn creates fees.

Stress. The obvious thing that clutter creates is stress.  Why stress?  Because of the following scenarios:

  • Each room carries visual reminders of the amount of work that needs to be done.
  • Using your home for personal activities such as sewing, scrapbooking, or even exercising becomes difficult when you need to clean off an area to work in.
  • Having guests over creates anxiety and embarrassment.  For some it will create an all-day event of cleaning up the home to make it suitable.

Are you convinced that your home needs a total overhaul?  Would you enjoy having guests over in your home without having to “worry” about what it looks like?  Then download my ebook.

The price is  $2  It cost less than a cup of specialty coffee—something you probably enjoy out of the home.  How much better will it be when you will be able to serve others IN your home instead of going away?
