Apple dapple cake, is something we have been making for years in our household. i used to make it in a Bundt cake form, then found I could make it into muffins, and now I just make it in a 9 x13 cake pan. It is very moist and delicious, try it for a great tasting apple treat.
You will need:
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 3/4 c flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 3 cups apples chopped
- TOPPING
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 c milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Beat your 3 eggs in a mixing bowl.
Add your oil–we use coconut oil, vanilla and sugar–we use raw.Mix that until well combined.As you can see I am making 2 bowls of this delicious tasting treat, one for us and one for a “hospitality” treat. Next add all of your dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.Add your chopped apples, we freeze a bunch of diced apples and I just partially thaw them before adding them to the mixture. Stir until combined.
Spread your mixture into a greased 9 x13 baking pan. You can use a Bundt pan as well.
Bake in a 350 for about 45-50 minutes.
Let cool and while it is cooling, mix up your topping. In a small saucepan add your butter and sugar and heat until boiling. Boil for 2 minutes.Whisk in 2 cups powdered sugar and add your vanilla.
You can also add maple flavoring, depending upon what kind you have in your pantry.Pour your topping over your almost cooled cake. let cool and then serve. Delicious tasting apple dapple cake.
