What moves you?

I hope your week is going well.  We are all packed up and ready to move, whenever the closing date happens:)  It will give us time this week to go do some fun activities, get out and just have fun before life gets busy putting our new home together.

I had a circumstance this week that “moved me” just for a moment.  I know the Lord has shown me that this new home is mine.  Everything has been confirmation, after confirmation, there is no way to doubt it.  Then I got a call about the septic this week.  It was not going to pass inspection and the owners were not willing to put more money towards it.  So after getting this report over the phone, my mind swirled for a moment. I instantly got off the phone and said, “Okay, God you have given this home to us, how is this going to be a testimony of what you have done, if there are all these problems?”  Then I started praying and rebuking.  I said, “devil, get out of this septic, get out of this home that the Lord has for us.”  I didn’t doubt, I just prayed.  Within a few moments our mortgage lady called us back and said, “let me have a friend of mine go look at it.”  I said, “okay.”  All this time, I just kept praying and believe God.  Not being moved and not allowing the enemy to put thoughts that go against what God has shown me.  I actually turned my music on and was focusing on the Lord.  This is one of my favorite new songs:

I am they ——“Make A Way”

You brought me to the desert so You could be my water
You brought me to the fire so You could be my shield
You brought me to the darkness so You could be my morning light
If You brought me this far, if You brought me this far

Wherever you lead me, I know you won’t leave me
Wherever you call me, You will make a way
Wherever we’re going, I will be holding
To the promise you have made
You will make a way
You will make a way

And when I’m in the valley, You will be my comfort
And when I’m at the end of me, I find You there
When I’m in the battle, You will be my present peace
Cause You brought me this far, You brought me this far
If You brought me this far

Wherever you lead me, I know you won’t leave me
Wherever you call me, You will make a way
Wherever we’re going, I will be holding
To the promise you have made
You will make a way
My God will make a way

Cause You brought me this far
You brought me this far
You brought me this far
You will make a way

You brought me this far
You brought me this far
You brought me this far
My God will make a way

Wherever you lead me, I know you won’t leave me
Wherever you call me, You will make a way
Wherever we’re going, I will be holding
To the promise you have made

Wherever you lead me, I know you won’t leave me
Wherever you call me, You will make a way
Wherever we’re going, I will be holding
To the promise you have made
You will make a way
You will make a way

Long story short, she called back and said, go over to the new house and he is going to show you what is wrong.  So I went.  This person, whom I have never met before, uncovered part of the septic and said this is the problem.  But it is fixed.  He called the inspector and the inspector came back and gave it an all clear!  If the inspection did not pass—we would not of gotten the loan.  This man did this out of the generosity of his own, never charged, just did!    That is God.

When God gives you something, He doesn’t tell you all the problems that are going to happen.  He does this for a reason.  If He told you, you probably would not venture forward in that matter and pursue it.  You would start looking at things carnally minded and “think” it would not be a wise choice.  He knows when you find out it is going to surprise you and  it is going to challenge you, and that is all part of it.  It probably is one of His favorite parts because during those times you  have an opportunity when all these things come up in your face to trust in Him and NOT BE MOVED!

Faith  pleases our Father.  When everyone else is cracking, worrying, and falling apart—you can stand firm and say, “Hey God has proven to us that He will never leave us and that He is on the throne!  None of these things move me!”  It is a sign of our love and faith in Him.

The Bible says take heed and watch out!  It does this for a reason.

Here is an example from scripture.  In Numbers 13, the Israelites had came so far yet did not go in to the promised land.  Why?  So much had happened with them in their lives and God was leading them and they were getting to where He was going to give them the land that was flowing with milk and honey.  They got there and sent out people to go scope out the land.  They found huge grape clusters and a beautiful land rich with soil.  They searched the land for 40 days and they came back and gave their report to the Israelites.  Remember these Israelites were born into slavery, never had anything.   It was only by a miraculous hand of God that they were able to fight off their enemies and get the pearls that were handed to them and now they were standing at the edge of this beautiful land that God had promised to them.  I’m sure everyone was excited and anticipating all that God had for them.  When they showed them the grapes and gave them the report and said surely it flows with  milk and honey.  They had the proof.  Then in vs 28 is when it all started going wrong.

It was the will of God for them to go into the promise land.  God got them out of Egypt and all they had to do was enter in.  They had to trust Him and do it.  But it did not happen.  The will or plan of God did not happen because of their unbelief.

A friend gave me a picture and it said   GOD IS IN CONTROL.  It was a beautiful picture but something did not sit right with me. Was God really in control?  Does He control us? Does He just force things to happen and be in control of things on the earth?  Think about our own lives…..does He control the choices that we make?  When you are mean and nasty to someone, is that God “controlling” us?  Does he force people into doing things?  No, God is not in control.  God is definitely in the guiding and leading part of our life but He will never force us to do something. That is our own free will.  I definitely believe that God is almighty and powerful and that His will, will be completed on this earth, but does that mean that we will be part of it?  God had chosen people to enter into the promise land and they chose not to enter.  He chose another group instead.  God’s kingdom plans will be done, no one is going to stop that BUT will we be part of it?  He gives us the choice to do that.  He will never make us be part of that.

Back to our bible……in vs 28 is when they started doubting.  They were seeing the enemies that they had to face and started questioning what God had for them. Their faith was dwindling quickly.  They were thinking it was going to be better to go back to where they had came from instead of going forward with what God had for them.  They started saying words like “yah but….”  “Well it looks all good, but the reality of it is…..”  All these doubting words.

When something starts to go wrong don’t say, “Yah, but….you know..” that disrespects God.  When He tells you something you should say “Amen!”  Don’t discount what the Lord has shown or told you.

Don’t yield to the enemy, he wants you to believe him and doubt God!

This was a Psalm that we sang during worship yesterday over and over again:

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Psalm 3:3

This week when you start feeling those attacks and you want to doubt God—remember that God is your SHIELD.  He will lift your head up no matter what you are going through.  You don’t need to shirk away in despair—keep your head up high!  Let God be your shield.  The Lord God is with you!  When you have victory in your own life that sparks victory in someone else’s life.  Our faith is contagious.  If someone can hear and see faith working in your life–that inspires people to put faith into action in their own lives.

Don’t doubt God this week.  If He has promised something to you or has shown you a path—have the faith that it will happen!

Pray you have a good rest of your week.  Keep smiling and holding your head up high!
