Sometimes we aren’t relieved by God. Sometimes we merely endure.

What if a loved one was in a self-destructing act and they didn’t want to stop.  You plead and beg and still no response.  Why?

What if their actions ultimately affected your childrens’ future and how they would live.  Why?

What if it was ruining you financial.  What then?

What if it was a lifestyle choice, something so easily seen by man to change but still no response.  Why?

What if it was a child dealing with a sickness?  Having to watch your own, suffer through things that they shouldn’t have to suffer.  Why?

Why is it who we love the most…we most often times belittle, put down, quench growth, and completely shut them out of our lives.  Why?

Why is it when things go bad and emotions run high we automatically put up walls as to not allow ourselves to feel the pain.  Why?

We are made human, we are made to feel , to love, and to hurt.

Why  is that?

Why would God allow us to feel such wonderful things and then experience such hurtful feelings as well?

Is it punishment?

Is it reaping and sowing?

Is it a learning experience?  Teaching us how to respond and do the right thing?

What….then?

The human race has fallen since the beginning of mankind.  It is natural to not care, to be mean, to self- destruct, to do what makes us “feel good”.  Even when that means harmful effects upon those around us.

All this said….where do we go from here?  Where do we go when it is us feeling the hurt, watching the shame, and seeing the financial ruin, right in front of you.  Then we are left to wonder what our future holds?

The answer is God.

What does God promise his people?   God promises relief from ALL troubles in the next world, but only some relief from troubles in this life.

Faithful people throughout the centuries witness to dramatic deliverances from sickness, from financial woes, from all manner of troubles. Flesh-and-blood human beings have testified to miracles.

They happen.

But not always.

Sometimes we aren’t relieved by God. Sometimes we merely endure.

But this isn’t such a bad thing. We are never nearer to God than when we are troubled.

In times of comfort and ease we forget him.

In the worst of times, we suddenly remember, “Oh duh, what if I asked God for help?” Sometimes the answer is the help we pray for.

The answer may be to “Lean on me, and you will survive and thrive.”

Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.

Psalm 73:25-26

I need You to soften my heart,
To break me apart.
I need You to open my eyes,
To see that You’re shaping my life.

All I am,
I surrender.

Give me faith to trust what You say
That You’re good, and Your love is great.
I’m broken inside, I give You my life.

I may be weak, but
Your Spirit’s strong in me.
My flesh may fail, but
My God You never will.
