spaghetti in crockpot

This is easy to make for Sunday morning as you cook it in your crockpot and come home after church to a meal all ready.

Throw the following into your crockpot :

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 package bulgur burger
  • 1 pint pureed tomatoes
  • 1/2 pint tomato paste
  • 2 pints water
  • 2 T raw sugar
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt, pepper
  • 2 T minced onion
  • 1/2 green pepper chopped or 2 T dry bell pepper

IMG_20140802_202238I used pints  because that is how I freeze my items.  I buy a large industrial sized can of pureed tomatoes and tomato paste and ration them out into smaller pint and 1/2 pint containers to freeze.  I cook my hamburger before and freeze that as well.  I can just pop all of these items into my crockpot and come home to delicious tasting spaghetti.

For my noodles, I cook them and drain them.  I rinse them in cold water and place them in a pot of cold water on the stove.  When we come home from church, I can scoop out my noodles and place the hot sauce on top of it.  No more sticky noodles.
