These were super easy to make and smelled heavenly drying in my oven. I mixed up equal parts of cinnamon and applesauce. For fun we added some nutmeg and cloves as well. Mixed it up until it was in a ball shape. We kneaded it a few times and then rolled out the dough. 
My daughter had fun making gingerbread men out of the cinnamon dough.
We then placed them on a cookie sheet and let them dry in a low temperature oven 170 degrees for about 3 hours. We didn’t poke holes in these because they were going to be decorations around our home. If we would make ornaments I would have used a straw to poke a hole in the top.
